(or Svenska Rugbyförbundet - founded 1932 and joined the IRB in 1988) is a growing sport largely helped along by enthusiatic locals and ex-pats emigrating to Sweden.

In Sweden Rugby Union's first International in 1949 saw Sweden win against their local rivals and neighbours, Denmark, with a 6-0 victory (October 23rd 1949).

largest win was 116-3 in an away games to Luxembourg in 2001 whereas they worst defeat was at the hands of the Soviet Union in 1976 when they crashed to a 72-0 defeat.
