The British & Irish Lions and Australia also contest the series for the Tom Richards Trophy. This Trophy is named after the only player to play for both teams - for Austraila in 1908 and then for the Lions in 1910. This incredible man also won the Military Cross during World War I.

Although combined British Teams started touring in 1888, it was not until 1910 that the first offical British Lions tean set off for South Africa and Argentina.

However the first unoffical match was on 28th April 1988 when the British Lions face Otago and won 8-3. The first International came a year later on 30th July 1891 when the British Lions beat South Africa 4-0.

The full match schedule will not be confirmed for some time, the Lions Tour is likely to start in Perth on Saturday 1 June & there will be ten games in total - seven provincial matches & three Test matches. Besides Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne are likely to be included as match venues, along with Cairns, Townsville, Newcastle and Canberra.
